BAIKONUR TRIPS
to legendary sites
and rocket launches

Baikonur is more than a point on the map. It is a city and a working spaceport where the scale of space history is still felt in every route. Here you can see places that most people know only from books, documentaries and archive footage.

Plan your trip in advance: restricted facilities require permits, approvals and careful route preparation. We help arrange the format that fits your plans, from a calm sightseeing trip to a tour built around a live launch.

You will be able to visit iconic spaceport sites, see Gagarin's Start, museums, technical areas and, depending on the chosen program, experience the main moment of the journey: a rocket launch.

Witness a Soyuz spacecraft launch

A rocket launch cannot be compared with an ordinary excursion. First everything around you holds its breath, then the engines ignite and the area fills with sound, light and vibration.

On selected trips you can watch a crewed Soyuz spacecraft launch not on a screen, but with your own eyes from an official observation point.

You will feel the atmosphere of the spaceport on launch day and see the moment when a new mission begins its journey to orbit.

Reviews

The Baikonur trip left a very strong impression. I wanted most of all to see a rocket launch in person, and the moment itself was even more powerful than expected: the sound, vibration and scale stay with you immediately. We also visited historic sites, saw the houses of Gagarin and Korolev, and spent time near hangars with rocket equipment. The guides explained everything clearly and without dry lectures.

Baikonur was nothing like a regular sightseeing trip. In a few days we saw places we had only known from films and archive footage: the museum, launch pads and technical facilities. The program was full, but not chaotic: transfers, timing and guidance were organized very clearly. The road is long, but the impressions fully justify it.

At Baikonur you feel how much history stands behind every object. The organization was smooth: transport, meals and excursions had all been thought through in advance. The brightest moment was the rocket launch. Watching such a huge machine rise from the ground and disappear into the sky is a completely separate emotion. Anyone interested in space should go.

I did not expect Baikonur to be so captivating. It is not just a walk through attractions, but an introduction to a place where space history was actually made. We visited launch sites, saw Gagarin's Start and space technology mock-ups. The guides spoke vividly, with detail and respect for the place. The children were interested too, which was a separate plus for us.

Frequently asked questions

Short answers about trips from Latvia and the Baltic countries, access levels and permits

We plan trips for travelers from Latvia and the Baltic countries. There are five formats: the standard tour, the rocket launch tour, the extended format, the deep access format and the stalker route. They differ by access level, physical difficulty and whether the trip is tied to a launch date.

The standard tour is suitable for a first visit to Baikonur and for family travel. We help plan the route in advance, taking into account travel from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia or nearby countries. At the spaceport, the program includes the MZK hangar with Buran and the OK-MT mock-up, the hangar with the Energia rocket, Gagarin's Start, the command bunker, the houses of Gagarin and Korolev, and the cosmonauts' dining hall.

The launch tour includes the main route plus live observation of a rocket launch. This trip is planned around a specific date, so travel from your country, group availability, accommodation and permits should be coordinated in advance.

The extended format gives closer and higher access to selected sites, such as access to the top of the Energia rocket hangar and possible access to the MZK hangar. The deep access format includes all of this and also provides a visit inside Buran.

Citizens of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia with an ordinary passport can enter Kazakhstan visa-free for up to 30 days. Access to Baikonur facilities still requires permits and approvals, so paperwork must be planned in advance.

This is a separate format without a classic guided excursion style: about 40 km through the desert and a different way of reaching the sites. It requires physical readiness and a clear understanding of the route conditions. It is not suitable for children.

After your request, we clarify the departure city, participants' citizenship, preferred tour format and dates. Then we help shape the logistics to Baikonur, explain which documents are needed and start the permit process for restricted facilities in advance.
